Normal vs US

The NORM:

And... OUR HOUSE

And these aren't just one time visitors.  They've been quite regular in the late afternoons each day for the last month.  We attract only the best.  It reminds me of THIS from an earlier time in our lives.

We should name them.

A Monday Gone Bad

What happens when a "pocket-rocket" motorcycle rear ends this truck in the middle of an intersection?

Well...

The driver looses control, flies off, the back tire flips up over the top, head lights break, and something internally cracks and leaks fluid all over the road  -- totaling the vehicle.
Driver survived with minor injuries.

And the truck you ask?

Tiny scratches on the bumper.  Tiny scraps on the black plastic molding near the plate.  No dent.
Matt said he barely felt the impact of the bike.
$1000.00 worth of damage on the truck.

And the bike?  Well... the Monday worsens for the driver.

The bike was only 10 days old.  The driver was planning on going to DMV the very next day.
The driver was without insurance on the bike.  The driver did not have a motorcycle class license.
The bike was impounded.
He had to pay $300.00 to retrieve his TOTALED bike from the impound yard.

What an event.  One for the books!

Since we currently own a coffee table that looks like this:
(glass top, pointy wooden corners, completely shatterable)
Carter has fallen victim to this table several times.  His little forehead can't take too many more corner bumps!  AND he likes to chuck things at the glass - because it makes a cool loud noise when it hits.

We've gone ottoman shopping.  We want one with storage.  We want one that could double as a coffee table.  We want one to provide extra seating in our room.  We want, want, want...
Here are our top finds:
Squishy top, 4 drawers, wooden feet
Squishy top, large surface - rectangular. Room for baskets of toys below.
4 flip-over trays, "hole" for storage.
Lift top storage - on hinge.

We think we want a version of the last one.  We are going to order it 48" x 36".  Should make it so both couches can use it.  Squishy - but firm top for drinks/extra seating...

Who knows.  We think it'll work.  It's gotta be better for Carter and his bruises!

Patio Making

Hello Baby!
Somewhere in all the heat and the sweat... this stamp was laughed at.
It was on EVERY piece of wood.
"Gay Wood." Hahaha!
This one gives a good perspective on just HOW BIG this patio is! Don't they look like little ants?!

The Miche Bag

Last weekend, I fell in love with a new purse(s). It's SO COOL! The insides stay the same... you change the outsides - it's super quick to pull apart and "remake" into a whole new purse. I can match my outfits or moods. It's awesome! The expensive part is the insides, after that, I can have new purses all the time for just 20 bucks!
These are the two shells I chose:

I also splurged and purchased longer/cuter straps:

It's fun.

If you're having trouble placing this short, heavy, triangular lit chest "SUPER HERO" ...
I understand.
This is Carter next to the "real" Ironman!

It was definitely a moment he will remember for many seconds to come!
What a knock-off!

Carter's Seat at the Rabobank Arena

It wasn't used much this season. Carter was mainly a lap kid, and the seat was used for diaper bag, purse, and jacket storage. But, the other night... Carter got to try it out. He is too light to keep it down consistently. Although, he found it rather entertaining to 'rock out' in his chair!

Sinus Surgery - Final Phase

Today, I Vicodined-up and Dr. Fisher yanked (literally) the steroid packs out of my nose. Not that bad. I was surprised to see that the "steroid packs" were more metal than balloon, and they had metal "wings" popping out of each side to keep them in place between my eyes.

Matt filmed the second one being removed to appease my sick-twisted nature.

I snapped this shot of the "winged steroids" after removal.

Crazy, right? THEY ARE LONG!!! At least as big as toothpicks!

The Dr. said that everything looks really good. He thinks that my excessive sneezing will stop now that these guys aren't up there festering!

Look! Here's a clip of my Dr. explaining the surgery I had done. It's rather new out - and it's easier to recover from than the 'old' version:

Carter's 1st Bounce House

This last weekend, while Auntie Moe was doing this:

(Selling Dog Collars and Leashes)

Carter was enjoying his first BOUNCE HOUSE!  He was hesitant at first, but after a couple of minutes, he was sold!  We couldn't keep him out of the thing for the remainder of the afternoon!

"My Cup, My Straw, My Water!"

Carter's started saying something kind of like, "MINE!"
And we are learning that ALL things are "mine."

With Carter's help, they'll build the patio in record time!
