Lights Over Paris

Matt's cousin, Will (Bill and Joy's son from the previous blog entry) lives in West Hollywood - just 45 minutes from where we staying.  We decided to jump on the freeway and go see his place.  The freeway was moving at a pace of 15mph.  The 45 minutes turned into 1.5hrs.
When we pulled up, it was all worth it.
Will lives here

in this mansion one street off of Beverly Hills Blvd.  His balcony looks out on the city skyline.  It's amazing.  How does a 24 year old afford this  - you ask?
He shares this home with these guys

The band "Lights Over Paris."  He does their keyboarding - and writes some of the music for their songs.  They recently had their first single hit the radio - here's the video

We had a tour through the house and Carter even wrote some music up in Will's room

We came away looking like official LOP fans.  Will hooked us up!

Crystal Cove Beach

We picked this sweet ride up off the side of a building.
Thank you Bill and Joy for a wonderful day!

Have You Tried the "GOLDEN Oreo"?

It's a hit!

In the Draft Arena

There was a table for every NHL Team.  The people sitting at them are the owners and managers. (Millionaires.)
We snuck down from our nosebleed seats to sit HERE.  Right in the mix with the Drafted Players themselves!
Carter tried orange soda.
These lower seats didn't last long.  I think we were kicked out in about 5 minutes.

The Stanley Cup

We waited in a line to take a picture next to the Stanley Cup - which currently belongs to the Chicago Blackhawks.
There were several other notable trophies to check out on our way to the "main event"...
The Campbell Family
RIGHT BEFORE we made it to the front of the line, Carter fell asleep.
The Cup wasn't exciting enough to keep him going.

Welcome to the NHL Draft!

Carter was kicking  - because he was SO EXCITED!
This is Grant - He is the 4th grader from my class that gave us the tickets.  He is a goalie for the Dragons Hockey team in Bakersfield.  He was just ranked #1 for his division in the state.  Someday he won't just be modeling this pro-wear.

Carter's not quite ready to be a goalie.
