Victoria, B.C., Canada

Welcome to Victoria!
Isn't it beautiful?!

This is our time-share hotel balcony view...
The flowers say, "Welcome to Victoria"
This is the Parliament building.  The man that built it was only 25 years old.  It was his 2nd job.  The first was a house that the homeowners hated.  After he built this building though, he was then hired for the Wax museum across the street and the lovely "Empress Hotel" that is pictured right below the Parliament photo.  So impressive.

The statue of Queen Victoria.
Check out the crazy trees at the entrance to The Empress!

The harbor...

Each night - until 1am the Parliament Building lights up... The lights are in honor of Queen Victoria.  They are representing her 'diamond reign'  -- Like diamonds sparkling in the night.

This cruiser looks huge!
Hah!  Funny name!
Art.
This "shoe tree" is on the patio of a restaurant across the street from where we are staying.  SO strange!

TODAY  (7/1) is "Canada Day!"  It's like the States' 4th of July.  We celebrated with ALL of Victoria.  Carter got to enjoy this flag for all of about a minute.  At that time, he ate the flag off the stick.

Chinatown in Victoria.
This is the school house.

The garden at The Empress Hotel.

The Parliament Building, rocking Canada Day!
Since it was a holiday, we were able to tour the building!
Beautiful marble --- "brought in all the way from Tennessee in the United States"

The mosaic floor was completed by ONLY two men.  Crazy.

Our timeshare.
LOOK!  CANADIAN GEESE!
Check the cannons on this ship!

They have dandelions in B.C. too!
Now we're at a condominium

Their naval base.
Our hotel, again.

Crazy patriotic people on Canada Day

Carter's first tatoo

It is A MAJOR EVENT for them. SO MUCH FUN!

Getting ready for some fireworks.

Cranky... it's past his bedtime.
It was SO amazing with the bay reflections.

The next morning, we set out to explore the other side of the peninsula.

Our reenactment of one of our wedding photos.
Our hotel, yet again
Art.

The "Welcome to Victoria" flowers from the other side.
Good-bye Victoria.
