Hawaii - Day Seven
This day we traveled to the most SE corner of the island and played in the water!
We "hiked" down to this beach area.
Two sea turtles swam with us in the bay!
They got close enough to touch!
Matt filmed the turtle as it played around next to him in the water. The sun's glare was so bad on the screen though that he couldn't see what he was shooting. Unfortunately, the turtle is at the top of the image the entire time.
Such an amazing experience.
This video is of Carter and I playing in the water.
Hawaii - Day Six
We gave Carter the ukulele we picked up the day before at the NEX.
He loved it -- Until he threw it across the hotel.
This day we spent walking in it's entirety.
We went exploring downtown without a plan.
I filmed some of the city's glory.
Yes, you are seeing it right - African penguins.
Again, you're not wrong - Flamingos!
Hawaii - Day Five
The ARIZONA Memorial
It's still leaking oil 60 years later.
A sub in the harbor
A Japanese Kamikaze missile from WWII
After seeing the memorial, we went to Kaka'ako Beach Park.
Carter chased the birds.
And we went up to the compass that's in the middle of NO WHERE. If you stand in the middle of the compass and talk, and your voice will be amplified. It's like you're talking into a bullhorn! It's crazy!
The view from the compass:
That night we had dinner at Chili's - Carter was full of character!
