Already $1000.00 worth of supplies - FREE!

Over the last few months,

I have spent a few hours submitting 6

grants for supplies to spoil my

fourth graders with.  They are things

that I wish I could purchase for my

 spunky kiddos.

I am now the proud owner of :

100 Specimen Rock Collection

An excellent reference collection and valuable tool in identifying and comparing common and rare rocks and minerals. This mounted collection displays common minerals, and igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Specimens are .5"–1". Study guide included.

Tub of Geodes

Students will love cracking open these hollow stones formed millions of years ago. Once opened, the geodes reveal their sparkling quartz centers. This will be a fascinating fun-filled addition to your rocks and minerals curriculum. Each tub comes with 72, 1.25" to 1.5" diameter geodes.

15 Scholastic Children's Encyclopedias
by Kate Waters (Editor)

The Scholastic Children's Encyclopedia is the ultimate research tool for kids 8-12. With more than 600 entries ranging from Aircraft to the Korean War, the Respiratory System to Walt Whitman, this book will serve as an indispensible reference for students. The comprehensive, but completely child friendly structure allows young researchers to find the information they are seeking quickly and easily, and leads them to even more through "See Also" boxes and cross references.

Cross-Section Earth Model

Earth Processes Poster Series

Just the Facts: Earth and Space Science

Ranger Rick® The Restless Earth Student Books

My second grant out there is called:

2.  "Tectonics are Technical"

If this one gets funded I will own:

Plate Tectonics: The Way the Earth Works Book

Curriculum Mastery® Earth Science Flip Chart Set

Plate Tectonics Book

Carolinaâ„¢ Modeling Tectonic Plate Boundaries Kit

Carolina™ Modeling Tectonic Plate Boundaries Kit
How do we know continental plates move? Why do we think the earth is a changing, dynamic planet? Through hands-on investigations, this kit can help your students explore and understand the answers to these questions while developing a concrete knowledge of planetary processes that contribute to plate tectonics.

Students investigate fluid convection, the effects of continental movement, different types of plate boundaries, and they identify continental plate boundaries by plotting current seismic activity.

Kit includes:
  • Moving Plates Model
  • Modeling Clay
  • Carolina™ Convection Fluid
  • French Square Bottle with Cap (8 oz)
  • Tea Candles
  • Plate Tectonics Poster
  • Teacher's Manual with Reproducible Student Sheet

Plate Tectonics: The Puzzle of the Continents Video, DVD
Explore the fundamentals of plate tectonics theory – from Alfred Wegener’s observations on continental drift to the latest computer analysis of movements at plate boundaries – through full-motion video and colorful computer graphics. Includes guide with program objectives, discussion points, class activities and glossary. 18 minutes

Plate Tectonics, Fault Model
Easy-to-view and easy-to-understand model provides an excellent visual representation of faults. Colorful model is durably constructed for years of classroom use. Dimensions: 21”L x 13”W x 8 1/2”H. Students will:• Learn how rock layers react under stress to break and slide past each other• Receive a firsthand look at normal faults, reverse faults and strike-slip faults • Will differentiate the hanging wall from the footwall

3."Microscopic Organism Studies
Require Microscopes!"

(6) Young Scientist Microscope Sets

Our easy-to-use set lets young scientists view specimens at 100, 600…even 1,200 times their normal size! Handy plastic case comes with a top-quality 9" metal microscope, plus all the tools children need to observe and discover—including 5 prepared slides, 9 blank slides, tweezers, vials, collection jars, a hand magnifier and much more.

and the final grant out there is my effort to cure the incoming 4th graders from their lack of
